"Can the Can" program a Success
Nearly 40 percent of the faculty, staff and administrators
at PLU voluntarily gave up their trash cans last
week in a campaign -- dubbed "Can the Can"
-- to increase recycling on campus. The idea is
that by reducing each person's trash capacity,
less will be thrown away and more will be recycled.
The campaign is aimed at boosting PLU's already
high recycling rate from 65 percent to over 80
percent.
