Anita Roddick, founder of cosmetics chain The Body Shop and Dame Commander of the British Empire, was the guest speaker during the University of Evansville's International Speaker Series event on Oct. 24. "Can the Can" program a Success
Nearly 40 percent of the faculty, staff and administrators at PLU voluntarily gave up their trash cans last week in a campaign -- dubbed "Can the Can" -- to increase recycling on campus. The idea is that by reducing each person's trash capacity, less will be thrown away and more will be recycled. The campaign is aimed at boosting PLU's already high recycling rate from 65 percent to over 80 percent. Read More
