Soccer superstar Christine Sinclair of the University of Portland has been awarded the 30th annual Honda-Broderick Cup, designating her as the 2006 Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. Former winner Jackie Joyner-Kersee presented Sinclair with the prestigious award, which recognizes not only outstanding athletic achievement but team contributions, scholastics and community involvement. Recent William Smith graduate Kathleen Bush will spend the next academic year conducting research in Denmark as a Fulbright student grantee.
