Chapman University announces the opening of its new state-of-the-art film studio, the Marion Knott Studios. The beautiful new $41 million, 76,000-square-foot Marion Knott Studios will be home to the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. UMW’s Claudia Emerson Wins 2006 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry
Claudia Emerson, associate professor of English at the University of Mary Washington, has been named recipient of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry. Emerson was awarded the prize in recognition of her 2005 book, titled Late Wife, an autobiographical account of the break-up of her 19-year marriage and the start of her life with a new husband. Steven Hayward, PhD, assistant professor of English at John Carroll University, was recently honored with the Premio Grinzane Cavour Prize for “Best Emerging Writer.” The prize is one of Italy’s most prestigious literary awards for young writers.
